A Threat and finally a letter..

Hello family and friends!
My mother has threatened me at gunpoint if I don't write but a few words of my well being.
So of course I willing and lovingly will comply with whatever my mother wants. (smart boy).

Things are going great, I'm still out here in Kumasi in a small place called Afrancho, my proselyting area is called Buoho, its been great. Its a small village on the outskirts of Kumasi.
My companion is from Fijian, we will finish training this week he's doing great,  I love him, he's taught me so much.  We are on our 6th week of the transfer.

Things are going great we just recently baptized one of our recent converts son, his name is Richmond, hes 14 and such a great kid, I can't wait to see him go on mission in 4 short years as we all know time fly's.

I don't have too much news, everything is the same, preaching the gospel and loving it.

Something that has helped me so much these past few months is daily scripture study, some days we have service projects and we don't get to study as much or at all, on these days I don't feel as strong.

I don't feel like I am all that I should be, on days that I read my scriptures I just want to tell everyone that these things that I teach are from God that church is true and that God loves them.

Reading the scriptures is truly like putting on armor that gives us the strength to go out into the world.  This life is not easy, Satan is everywhere but the only way that we can live in this world and not of this world is by diligent, consistent scripture study.

I love you all so much and bear my humble testimony that the church of Jesus Christ is true, to those that struggle or that have fallen away, the only thing that I can ask you to do is pray, read your scriptures and ask God if the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints is Christs church,  I  know it is Christs church, I wouldn't be here in Ghana if I didn't know that with all my heart. I love you as a brother or sister in Christ and I know that through the atonement of Christ we can overcome all things.

I know these things to be true and I want to always share that with others.
Much Love,

Elder Lawson
