I think Ghana might be hotter then Death Valley

Hello Everyone!

I hope that everyone has had a good week and is enjoying this new year.

Things in Africa have been great, we had a baptism this week I loved it, she is such a great person and shows so much love for the gospel. She will soon be watching over the primary kids, she is excited for that opportunity to serve.  Her name is Rose and she has been such a sweet spirit to have in our teaching pool. Happy new year everyone. Ghana goes crazy on new years they don't mess around, they love it and its a really big deal. It was fun to see. It slowed down the work for the week though, but we did our best and worked very hard.
Everything about missionary work has been great, I'm enjoying being out here.

The weather is absolutely terrible this time of year its so dry, man I always feel thirsty and there is dust everywhere, its crazy hard sometimes. starting to miss those four seasons we enjoy back home. Everything else has been great. My companion and I are doing great and we have again witnessed miracles. We have been teaching many people this past week. I hope that everyone is enjoying the new year and can grow closer to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I love you all and hope that everything has been as great as it has for me. be safe, have fun and have an amazing week. Please continue to find ways to serve your fellow man and grow closer to Jesus Christ.-Elder Lawson

Here is a portion of his letter to us that I wanted to share, we watched the video and know how hard it can be sometimes being in such a different environment or doing hard things, but never giving up is a virtue I hope we can all work on..I know I need to.

Elder Lawson: "This last week has been very hard but I've had some very tender mercies that have helped me though everything. I just watched the video "Only a stone cutter" I want you guys to watch it, it helps me to realize how I need to be much stronger and that is why I am here. I love you all so much, have an amazing week and don't forget about your son serving here in Africa, haha just kidding but know I'm happy, everything is well and my companion and I are enjoying life here, we are just plugging along.

Maureen (ME): I read this scripture this morning and I loved it, I'm sending it to Elder Lawson in my letter today, but I wanted to share it on his blog also..

For I know the plans I have for you, Declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Rose's baptism, and 3 handsome missionaries..

I don't think Elder Lawson is a fan of  Ghana cocoa.
I laughed out loud when I saw this picture.
I miss those eyes!
